Some designs of the kid character I had to do for Layout Design. the theme was for a Surfer kid tree house. (It was extra credit) But I had a lot of fun with his designs. Will add the cleaned up tree-house versions later.

Layout Design - Franck Project
Work in progress piece for a a friend's thesis work. The design is for a little girl's bedroom, but she's supposed be somewhat of a scary little girl, so right now it's much too cutsey. Will work with this as a basis and add more scary elements and change things up. Plus I have a few more sketch ideas, to be added later.

Illustrations - (mostly done for fun)
Just some drawings that I did, that I intend to paint... eventually.
This one is old but was done in order to practice creepier type creatures as opposed to the happiness and glee that I always draw. However it seems that I can't help myself. She still doesn't feel quite that creepy, and I erased the spiders in Photoshop that had been crawling on her body. Maybe I'll re-add them again when I paint it.

Old work that I still like
Been going through some old files while trying to clear space on one of my hard drive and came across work from old classes, and drawings I did for fun that I still like.
I figure I'd just put a few of them up here.
This was part of a fish based assignment that I did for an Illustration class I took at SCAD. These are three of about 12 fish we had to present. If I recall correctly the guidelines for these were Squiggles, multiples and transparency.
This was done during Matte Painting at SCAD. My Professor like it alot, and since I've rediscovered it while going through some old files, I've started to fix and extend it to show more of the setting. (this is still one of my faves too.)
Below is a Master copy of one of Michelangelo's Anatomy drawing studies. The paper I drew this on ( in pen and ink - I used a quill O__o) I coloured with tea bags to make it look aged. Here I took the colour out with Photoshop. But it does look better with colour. Also still one of my faves. (This was for my Drawing II class)
Done for fun. First time painting a tiger, so I was really happy with it...until I took animal drawing and all I see is the skewed anatomy. I also would need to go back in and fix the hands on her, but this was a lot of fun to work on.
Master copies done for Life Drawing my first Semester at the Academy. The woman is a copy of a photo. Not as fond of her as I am about the other two copies, but certain aspects, ( like her hand and her clothes) I really like how it came out.
Location drawing in San Francisco for Layout Design.
Some layouts that I also still like but don't think they're strong enough to be portfolio quality. ^___^

Creature Design - Byron Project
I had a lot of fun in the creature Design class, as intense as it was. Terryl Whitlatch is a wonderful teacher.
A freind (who's a modeler) liked my drawings ^___^ so asked if I could design another Aquatic creature for him. I did a lot of sketches and I thought it would be nice to put my progress up as I go with exploring the elements of what he wants in the design. Apart from making it Tiger based and aquatic, you need to be able to ride it.
So here are my rough sketches, will be updated as I continue to progress with the design.
( Byron had really liked the fins of my river leopard so thought of reincorporating them on this one)
And I just HAD to do this. Hahaha - Tiger Shark.
Well Byron really liked elements from all three ideas so here is the creature update. He liked the shark type head, the eel based body and the fins of the fish version, as well as the blue green colour combination, so here is their Fusion-Ha!
If they're any changes after this (which I'm sure there will be) I'll upload those as well, then work on drawing it in different poses and directs, then do a final clean painted version.
Byron's 3D mock ups of my creature O__o woot!
