I started this doodle in my sketch book, messing around with some markers.

then decided to clean it up ^__^

I know her hand floating in mid air like that doesn't make any sense... but just wanted to practice being a little more "painterly".

Back to Photoshop to colour to my heart's content.

Fixing that pesky ladybug, colour adjusting and a little setting ^__^.

I've been challenged to do something scary next, since I always do pretty fairy things.

Trying to keep it "Cell Shaded"

First Date?

My Boyfriend challenged me to do a piece that I coloured in a cell shaded style. Cell shading is almost always only two colours. The base and a shadow colour. So things tend to be flat and simplified. Trying to keep things clean and simple is harder than you would think. And for me resisting the urge to start shading and going into more detail than this took a little effort. But I like how clean and crisp the colours came out. Though I still think I went a bit overboard, he feels almost god-like with that glow...
I'll add more drawings in this same vein with an emphasis on keeping it as simple and clean as possible.

It's getting there...
